GLive Guildford
GLive is Guildford’s exciting new £25m entertainment venue that replaces the previous ‘Guildford Civic Centre’. The building was completed in Summer 2011 on time and £1m under budget.
Much of the demolition waste from the 1962 Civic Hall building was recycled and used in the construction of the new building.
The sustainable design and environmental benefits of the new venue have been recognised with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
The new building will offer:
- A main auditorium able to accommodate 1,000 seated & 1,700 standing
- Versatile studio space
- wo function rooms
- Five seminar rooms
- Bars
- Café
- Light and airy foyer spaces.
The main auditorium benefits from great seated views and an up-to-date acoustic system that will ensure a natural sound at live shows.
K2 acted as Project Co-ordinator and client representative, initially developing the project strategy, procurement of consultants and contractors, together with managing the selection of the Commercial Operator appointed to run the venue for the next ten years.
