Hale Village
K2 were appointed early in the development to provide Strategic Project and Development Management services to a mixed use scheme which is creating a new destination and sustainable community in North London. As the project developed K2 services were expanded to deliver construction management of the infrastructure and cost and commercial advice.
K2 is working in partnership with Lee Valley Estates in delivering the major regeneration development, which includes 1,210 new homes, 32,000sqft of offices, a primary school, student accommodation, a local supermarket, shops, restaurants and cafés, a 100-bedroom hotel, community health centre, fitness centre and crèche.
The construction is due to complete in 2014 with 700 bed student block already occupied, the majority of the infrastructure installed, the central biomass heating system operational and the offices, first affordable blocks and retail completing in the middle of 2011. The development is the first major regeneration project in Haringey and is a key scheme to the major’s plan for London. The project challenges are many, some of which include – high density development, 25 storey tower, remediation of a contaminated site, removing historic air raid shelters, constructing over the Victoria line, constructing adjacent major rail intersection, canals and waterways, etc
