K2 appoints new head of data and digital

K2 has made a firm commitment to investment in digital transformation with the appointment of a new Head of Data and Digital, Nick Stepanov.

Nick joins the business at a time of transformational change in the industry as we move from the post-Covid era to a period of high inflation and recession. As with any transformational period innovation is key and K2 is responding with a renewed focus on how we deliver value to clients – including through the use of data.

Nick is leading that initiative and brings experience from working with clients including HS2, Transport for London and Mott MacDonald.  For these clients, he led successful digital transformation through bespoke digital and data solutions.

Nick’s expertise focuses on digital transformation. He will be working with K2’s leadership team to standardise and enhance ways of working in terms of skills, processes, technology and data. He aims to create an environment where optimal technology and data solutions are deployed to empower all staff to do their job better and more efficiently, supporting our proposition of delivering certainty and helping clients beat the market.

He has already deployed a data strategy and is on target to lead the adoption of new technology with substantial projected benefits, thanks to proactive support from K2’s senior management and colleagues from OTAK in the United States.

Nick commented, “I am thrilled to embark on this journey and hope to make a positive and long-lasting impact for K2 Consultancy and the wider team as well.”

Nick previously has lived in more than five countries including Russia, Canada, Spain, the UK and the US. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, watching movies, snowboarding and swimming.

He is a qualified project manager and certified data analyst with an engineering background; a member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM); and a professional member of the Chartered Institute for IT (MBCS).
