Rob Ewen, Global Development Director for K2 Consultancy

K2 Consultancy has received a major boost with the appointment of former Mace board director Rob Ewen.

Rob is joining as Global Development Director for K2, Otak and Hanmi Global.

He joins K2 with a great reputation and longstanding client relationships derived from a remarkable range of programme, project and construction management commissions delivered in a career spanning over 30 years.

Rob’s arrival closely follows Hanmi Global’s significant investment in K2 in late 2019, through its American subsidiary Otak, with K2 being positioned for both significant growth in the UK market and as the hub for the development of a Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region.

As Global Development Director, Rob will lead K2’s growth in the UK and develop the depth of resource and capabilities in the EMEA Region.

Rob will also use his considerable construction management / delivery partner experience to position K2 as a leading provider in this area, whilst also positioning K2 as a leading proponent of innovative change, utilising the benefits of his recent position as a Strategy Board Member of i3P, the construction industry change partnership.

Rob said, “ What excites me about joining K2, is that with Hanmi Global’s backing and global ambition, we have a wonderfully secure platform from which to both attract the best clients and mobilise the best people as we build the K2 market position and develop the EMEA Region.  The combination of Hanmi Global and Otak provides a strength in depth of service delivery capability, financial stability and cultural perspectives that empower us to bring the best of all in delivering great solutions for our clients.”

Hanmi Global is based in Seoul, and is the leading Programme, Project Management / Construction Management company in Korea and is ranked as the 9th largest global PM/CM company by Engineering News Record. Otak is a US-based multi-disciplinary design and project management firm based in Portland, Oregon. The investment in K2 was their first in the UK and based on K2’s reputation for certainty in delivering project, cost and construction management solutions for its clients.

K2’s founder and managing director, John Setra, said “Rob’s appointment will help take K2 to the next level of growth and success. Rob’s appointment is helping us to develop the resources, reinforce our service capabilities and reach to grow through a business model which remains focused on relationships, supported by technical excellence with great service delivery.”
