Sustainable development

Mitre Wharf is a key site in North West London’s Old Oak and Park Royal Opportunity area.

Its delivery features application of K2’s distinctive approach, including early stage risk reduction through appointing an enabling works contractor to address key risks in the ground, development of a low-carbon solution and detailed design management to deliver optimised value and buildability.

Cost led design

The team will be working collaboratively, applying a cost led design approach, allowing for innovative solutions through leveraging design, materials and methodology expertise to the advantage of the client, whilst focusing on achieving target cost and improving value.

Large-scale regeneration

The redevelopment of Mitre Wharf will present some technical challenges due to its location overlooking Old Oak Common Railway Station. The station is currently undergoing major construction works including six HS2 platforms. It is due to become the UK’s best-connected ‘super hub’, and the largest station built in a single-stage build in the UK. K2 are providing Project Management and Cost Management services. A planning application is due to be submitted early 2022, ahead of construction later in the year.
