Healthcare
The project involved the decant of Outpatient Maternity and Dental units, together with the reconfiguration, refurbishment and extension of the Neonatal Department to form part of the maternity ward, responsible for delivering around 4,500 babies a year. It now provides staff with more space to provide even better care for newborn babies and their mothers, increasing the number of specially designed high dependency and intensive care cots.
K2 managed the process from design to delivery. Keeping the existing neonatal unit operational, whilst minimising impact to other hospital wards was essential. We implemented robust project controls to support stakeholder engagement and to ensure timely decisions and approvals were obtained to maintain programme. K2 worked with ADP Architecture on this challenging but enjoyable project – a great team effort, endorsed by the client – “A really great project and very pleased to be involved. Fantastic teamwork from all” Ian Mackenzie, Director of Information and Facilities.
