K2 are working on the development of a 75-hectare site released from Green Belt – a key development site for the local authority for delivering its housing targets. The development will be a mixed use scheme with both private for sale, private rent and affordable homes – 800 in total, with associated infrastructure. It will also provide a new primary school and community facilities.
The site was identified for release from the Green Belt as it was considered to provide a sustainable urban extension to Stevenage, located in close proximity to the existing built-up boundary, public transport and local facilities.
K2 worked with the planning team to agree the mix of units, affordable allocation, associated facilities and phasing to secure successful consent. We managed the design, programme and planning application working with both developers for land acquisition.
K2 are also progressing the site wide infrastructure design and programme to ensure that the development is delivered to time and cost with each land parcel fully serviced for both developers. K2’s role includes development management, project management, cost management and planning.
